The Brotherhood of the Second Cross was established on Father’s Day 2005 where 160 men stood before their wives and children to pledge themselves to purity, self-sacrifice, loyalty, and excellence. Today, hundreds more have joined the commitment.
Do you sleep well at night? Okay, that may not be a fair question if you’ve reached middle age and find yourself battling the normal aging process. But if you struggle to sleep well (and it’s not do to biological realities), I have some good news for you.
God is faithful.
If you lie awake at night trying to solve problems or practicing necessary conversations in your head, God will be faithful. As His man, you give your best to be loyal to His Kingdom and you make every effort to be the man He’s designed you to be. But as faithful as you are, He’s even better.
Jesus encouraged His disciples to live free from worry. He said that God was on the job and there was no reason for anxiety. He told us that God knows our needs and that He will care for us in every imaginable way.
He also told us not to worry about what we should say when we faced authorities or other difficult conversations. He promised the Holy Spirit would give us words to say in such moments, so we can skip the anxieties that keep others up at night.
Fact is, God is more faithful than you can imagine. And, as Jesus said, you can’t add one hair to your head with your worry. In fact, worry may be helping you leave a few of them on your pillow.
The point is this. If you are missing sleep because of the turmoil in your stomach or find yourself unable to shut off your thoughts at night, give your anxieties to God. Let Him hold the concerns of your life in His powerful hands. He won’t fail you, and that means you won’t fail either.
God is faithful.
