The Brotherhood of the Second Cross was established on Father’s Day 2005 where 160 men stood before their wives and children to pledge themselves to purity, self-sacrifice, loyalty, and excellence.
There are many difficult moments in family life–conflicts, disappointments, consequences, crises. Often it seems the great moments are outnumbered and eventually swamped by the challenges. But, for the man who sacrifices for his family, the days of victory and satisfying joy DO come!
Those who put their own needs ahead of their family seldom stay in the game long enough to enjoy a lot of meaningful moments. Even if they’re there, such men are seldom connected to the successes the family feels. So the wife or kids may enjoy great moments, but dad doesn’t get to feel he made a major contribution.
Not so, for the self-sacrificing heroic man. Moments of success are his to share in because his family knows such moments would not have come without his stability and strength. Because he has given his best for them, they celebrate him when the best comes their way. No success on the job feels as good as the shared joys of a family. And it’s amazing how those joys even melt away the heartaches of former setbacks. Giving your best foryou family brings the best moments you’ll ever enjoy.
