Makes perfect sense, and yet we struggle with such common sense. Our lives are typically spent chasing what doesn’t last. We want for the moment, often with little regard for the lasting impact. We make choices for sin that corrupt our futures with consequences, and we chase temporary satisfactions to needs that will return again and again. Jesus’ speaks here of far more than bread and fish. He challenges our entire approach to life and calls us to establish greater priorities–one’s that aim at that which endures.
