Notes from the Journey with the Disciples – 67

67. “Unless you see miraculous signs and wonders, you will never believe” (John 4:48).

The people were coming to Him because they had seen what he had been doing throughout the region. But, it seems He is concerned that they are not perceiving who He is. Yes, He is a miracle worker, a prophet of the highest order, but He is more than that. The same question is good for us as well. Is He simply the “answer” we run to in times of trouble, or do we treat Jesus like He is God? Do we worship Him and give His purpose our greatest attention? If He’s a prophet, well, that’s good for Him and for us at times. But if He’s God, that changes everything, doesn’t it?
