- “so that in me you may have peace” (John 16:33).
We can have peace. Though Jesus is describing the suffering and uncertainty of the road ahead, both for himself and for His disciples, the promise is peace. That peace emanates first from knowing that He has a plan, one He is actively bringing about. That Jesus would be describing these events prior to their occasion clearly indicates that God not only knows what’s coming, He has these moments in His control. And, there is further reason to be encouraged, for He now only knows what’s ahead. Those arising events are a part of His intentional plan–one that He is working for their and our good. So be at peace.
