- “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified” (John 12:23).
In the New Testament, when you see the word “glorified” you can usually read “revealed.” Some of us misunderstand this word to mean praised, but the real idea is to be seen for what one truly is. That’s what the crucifixion did–it showed us who Jesus is and what He truly came to do. When we, in turn, glorify Him, we are making Him visible, demonstrating who He is by how we live and what we say. Our task is to do just that. We are to show our Savior to the world by our love. When people see who we love and how we love, they can connect the dots to Jesus, who lived and loved by the same priorities. This is what it means to glorify–to let Jesus be seen clearly in us. This is the real evidence of a true disciple.
