Sometimes you just have to step up and say it, “I’m the man.” For this fellow, formerly blind but now able to see (thanks to Jesus), there’s no hiding, in spite of reasons to hide. Jesus has stepped into his life and fixed what couldn’t be fixed. Now, he is a picture of the power of Christ–evidence of the greatness of the One these religious leaders despise. But look what Jesus has done! No denying his power when this fellow is in the room. For this man, the truth is both exciting and threatening. What he could never do for himself, God has done. In the same way, what we could never do for ourselves, God has done. It’s time to step forward and say it, “I’m the man that was…”
