Reaching the Next Level – 1

It’s the question we’re asked the most in the church health world, “How do we get to the next level?”

Of course, the idea of “next level” can mean many things. It can speak to effectiveness, community impact, attendance or membership, and perhaps other elements of the local church agenda. But typically, the one asking is thinking of church size.

I’ve come to believe that moving forward as a church is the product of three essential pieces:

1. Excellence – How well are we doing what we do?

2. Impact – Who’s changing lives?

3. Organization – Who’s falling through the cracks?

No matter the size of your church, or the size you want to reach, these three elements, working properly in tandem, were the key factors in churches that have walked this path before you.

It’s essential that we understand these three, how to achieve them, and their proper place among the priorities of your ministry. Over the next three blogs, we’ll take them one at a time, and what we will share may surprise you, so don’t jump to any premature conclusions. These three each have a critical part to play, but many currently have them playing the wrong part or hoping they’ll achieve something they’re not made to do, so stay with us.

When these three are in their proper order (not the order above), healthy growth will follow.

Stay tuned…

Thanks for this, Mike! This speaks to exactly what I shared with you a month ago about “getting off of Top Dead Center!”
