Notes from the Journey with the Disciples – 238

  1. “or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves” (John 14:11).

Jesus, in His appeal to Philip and the others to believe that He is in the Father and the Father is in Him, calls on what should be obvious. The miracles that He has been doing everyday surely point to more than coincidence or prophetic gifting. John later says they were too numerous for any collection of books to record. Given all that He’s done, surely He must be God! That seems to be the logic Jesus draws upon. And it makes complete sense. In the same way, we can and should arrive at the same answer when we think of all that He has done for us. Surely, we have enough evidence to believe, don’t we?
